Diamond Shoals OBX has bumped to North winds 25-35KTS recent gust to 37 down into Frying Pan Shoals 25-30KTS down into Grays Reef which just turned on after midnight coming in with NE Winds 20-25KTS gust to 27.
Looking out to the East to the St. Martins Buoy. ESE Swell 6-7 FEET 10 Seconds. Buoys throughout the region showing 10 second periods through NE Bahamas currently with 4 FEET of ESE swell height 9-10 seconds.
Prolonged Easterly trade-wind flow setting up behind OMEGA Highs developing out in the East Atlantic upcoming forecast period. Latest 48HR wind wave forecast setting it up with Easterly Tradewind Swell 8-10 FEET.
Positives and negatives in the overnight model runs.
Positive, models both agreeing on extended period ride-able surf for much of the U.S. Eastcoast in the upcoming period. Neg is GFS backs away from POSSIBLE Major Swell Event.This is the first run after 72HRS of back to back runs. Model has come in line with the EURO showing weaker Low developing well East out in the Atlantic however both models show a decent NE Fetch developing. Again one run of many with lots of time to watch.
06Z GFS for Next Friday. This is day 6 which gets us closer to a more confidant 5 day forecast window.
